Our Department:
At Leggett & Platt, our HR Operations team is the backbone of our global workforce strategy, covering key functions like Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Employee Relations, Compensation & Benefits, Social Media & Communications, and HR Analytics. Each function plays an essential role in ensuring that we attract, nurture, and retain top talent while fostering an inclusive, innovative, and thriving workplace culture. As an HR Operations Intern, you’ll be part of a collaborative team working to support these areas, making a real impact on our global organization.
The Role:
As a Human Resources Operation Intern, you will have exposure to the full cycle of HR operations across various functions. From recruiting and employee engagement to performance management and analytics, you’ll gain hands-on experience while working closely with HR professionals and departments throughout the company.
This role offers the chance to network with industry professionals and immerse yourself in Leggett & Platt’s culture of innovation and collaboration. Whether you’re interested in the art of talent acquisition or the science of data-driven workforce strategy, this role provides an exceptional opportunity to explore it all while building valuable skills.
So, what will you be doing as a Human Resources Operations Intern?
- Spport the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate communication, and interview coordination.
- Assist with onboarding new employees by preparing orientation materials and ensuring a seamless integration.
- Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Help analyze HR data to provide insights into workforce trends and operational efficiency.
- Participate in the development and roll-out of HR initiatives, policies and procedures.
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives and events to foster a positive work environment.
- Assist in payroll, benefits, and performance management tasks as needed
- Additional duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or master’s program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability and exceptional integrity to handle confidential information with discretion.
- A curious mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Excellent time management skills.
Things we consider a plus:
- Previous internship or work experience in HR functions.
- Familiarity with HR systems.
- Knowledge of employment laws, full-cycle recruitment, compensation structures, or employee development tools
- Experience in data analysis and visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
