Advanced Financial Advisory: Render expert-level consultation on financial planning, rigorous analysis, and comprehensive reporting.
Strategic Business Counsel: Offer astute insights and strategic recommendations concerning corporate strategy, market dynamics, and competitive positioning.
Operational Excellence Initiatives: Propose and advise on systemic improvements to maximize operational efficiency and prudent cost management.
Executive Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to senior executives on sophisticated financial decision-making and exemplary leadership practices.
Strategic Project Participation: Engage in special projects, strategic initiatives, and due diligence proceedings as required.
Drive effective communication with internal stakeholders through assisting with the preparation and delivery of clear and concise updates on strategic projects.
Serve as a subject matter expert for the Finance workstream lead, providing guidance on the implications of the new product costing project on the General Ledger, GAAP, IFRS, and FICOPRO.
Collaborate actively with cross-functional teams and workstreams to contribute to the design and ongoing maintenance of the new product costing processes.
Articulate the strategic rationale for the new product costing approach by providing historical context and a clear explanation of its business purpose.
Support change management efforts by developing materials and providing guidance to divisional associates on the impact of the new cost allocation and commission calculation methodologies.

Comprehensive and profound knowledge of Airgas’ financial operations, integrated systems, and organizational culture.
Demonstrated expertise in advanced financial planning, meticulous reporting, and sophisticated analysis.

Superior communication and interpersonal skills, reflecting a high degree of professionalism.
Capacity to deliver objective, unbiased, and well-founded counsel to executive leadership.

Reporting Relationship
The appointed advisor shall report directly to the Senior Director of Finance Transformation.
Terms of Engagement
This role is structured as a part-time, strategic advisory position.
Compensation will be commensurate with the appointee's distinguished experience and mutually agreed upon terms.
The initial term of the engagement will be 6 months.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
Required Length & Type of Experience:
Minimum of ten years financial reporting / financial management experience in positions of increasing responsibility.
Management experience with solid leadership qualities including team management and people development skills.
Working knowledge and experience with large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, SAP strongly preferred.
Skilled project management, staff mentoring and employee development skills required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Established a proven track record of success in prior senior finance roles.
Strong technical accounting experience, knowledge, and substantial management responsibility and experience leading and managing multiple financial functions concurrently.
Strong “customer service” mindset and demonstrate leadership skills required to drive continuous process improvement.
Skilled at organizational team-building and people skills. The ability to work and navigate within a complex matrixed organization.
Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and to assume increasing responsibilities in a rapidly-changing environment.
Ability to understand the impact of new technologies on processes and costs and implement appropriate solutions and experience integrating new technologies into day-to-day operations.
‘Working Manager’ leadership style is expected in order to engage in the details of managing the operation and providing guidance.
Strong affinity for a ‘follow-up/follow-through’ management style and proactive communicator keeping his supervisors, other leaders and his team updated.
Ability to manage multiple priorities between divisional, local and corporate management and demands.
