Job description

Opportunity (Part-Time): Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Bottom Line Up Front: Hoplite Group is seeking an experienced Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) SME to support U.S. Government efforts in advancing full-spectrum operational capacity through the development of a CSAR capability for a partner nation’s military force.

Location:Remote support (CONUS) and forward engagements (OCONUS)

Level of Effort:
  • Non travel months: Approximately 40 hours/month.
  • Engagement: First in-person partner nation engagement scheduled for 13–17 July 2025 (Approximately 100 hours/month during engagement months).
  • Post-Engagement: Support as needed.

Availability: Immediate

Objective: Facilitate a Capabilities Based Assessment to support resource requirements determination to assist in establishing a Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) capability using global best practices across the Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership, Personnel, Facilities, and Policy (DOTMLPF-P) framework. The SME will help define the scope of CSAR capability required, identify material and non-material solutions, and provide a repeatable methodology for future capability resource analysis.

Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • Retired O-5/O-6 level officer with experience in U.S. military CSAR operations, planning, and policy.
  • Experience developing CSAR training strategies, doctrine, functional concepts.
  • Knowledge and experience in CSAR training from basic to senior officer for Army, Navy, Air Force, and Special Operations Forces
  • Familiarity with NATO CSAR interoperability standards
