Nursa is a healthcare platform that directly addresses the severe staffing challenges confronting the U.S. healthcare system by connecting qualified registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and certified nursing assistants (CNAs) seeking flexible work with facilities in need of help. As part of a small but mighty design team, you'll bring complex system processes to life through simple and clever interfaces. You’ll help define the visual style, interaction patterns, and personality of the product, while partnering closely with UX/UI teammates to understand the vision and lead product and dev teams to bring it to life. This is an international contractor position. Must be located in Central or South America to be considered.
Our UI team plays a key role in:
Shaping a cohesive system experience for every user type
Driving cross-functional collaboration with Product, Dev, Sales, and Support
Designing and refining features through multiple iterations
Maintaining consistency across the product through systemized design
Design Features:
Take business goals, product direction, and the Design team’s experience strategy, and turn them into clear, buildable design specifications for dev teams. Analyzes and provides requirements, design user experience and implements the design of complex software components in order to improve and/or develop the company's products.
Own the Design System:
You won’t be alone, but you’ll play a leading role in evolving components, patterns, and visual standards—and making sure dev teams follow them. This product will feel like yours as you propose and execute refactoring of design files, and deliver global/system designs for larger and/or more complex software features.
Partner with Product & Dev:
Keep delivery on track by managing and communicating your own timelines, help technical teams implement your designs, and find solutions alongside Front End developers when things get tricky.
Support Your Team:
Jump into ideation sessions, give thoughtful feedback, and lean on each other to push quality higher. We work closely, openly, and honestly to build better together. Participate in all phases of software development from requirements gathering to maintenance.
Education & Experience:
A design-related degree is helpful, but proven experience solving real problems through iterative design is most important. Experience designing experience flows for different roles in a single platform.
Portfolio:
We want to see your style, your thinking, and how you solve design challenges. A proven track record of developing high-quality UX/UI for web and mobile applications.
Tools:
Proficiency in Figma is great (we use it), but if you know Sketch or Adobe tools, you'll adapt quickly. Bonus experience is working with Figma on significant projects with 500+ design files;
Design Systems:
You understand how to use and evolve design systems as part of a team.
Analytical Eye:
You can evaluate how well software matches the intended design and make updates as needed.
Detail-Oriented:
You care about the little things in both execution and will do the work required to show developers how to get them right.
Creative Problem-Solver:
You’re not afraid to think outside the box, propose outlandish ideas, give others’ ideas serious consideration, and blend opposing views into informed, interesting solutions. Have an always learning mindset to seek solutions. You sharpen and hone your skills by reading books, taking online courses, watching videos or reading blogs.

You share your work early and often, give thoughtful feedback, and integrate critique. You bring people along with your ideas—and go along with theirs when it makes sense. You’re eager to learn and to teach.
