Adjunct Faculty – Remote – SOE Clinical Supervisor -Teacher Credential Programs (Multiple and Single Subject), Ed Specialists (Mild to Moderate & Extensive Needs)

Position Overview:

The successful candidate for this position will serve as a clinical supervisor to teacher credential candidates. They will help the candidate acclimate to the site, collaborate with the Cooperating/Mentor Teacher, and use the formative and summative assessment forms to assess and guide the student’s growth utilizing GoReact for remote observations. This position also requires ongoing communication with the teacher credential candidate and Cooperating/Mentor Teacher, as well as the review of the lesson and unit plans designed by UMass Global teacher credential candidates. As this is a combined supervision and seminar course, this position will require CalTPA support for Cycles 1 & 2, which will require attending on-going training to ensure the supervisor’s knowledge is current and the support provided to the teacher credential candidate is appropriate.

  • Preparing and delivering course content or assessments.
  • Collaborating with faculty or staff for curriculum planning.
  • Utilizing specific technologies or tools (e.g., LMS, video platforms).
  • Attending required meetings, training, or development sessions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must hold a California Teaching Credential in the content area they are supervising.
  • Master’s degree in education or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • 5 - 7 years minimum experience teaching in diverse school settings.
  • Knowledge of Common Core and California state standards and frameworks as well as instructional practices that support student learning, including effective strategies for working with English learners and students with special needs.
  • Recent professional experience in PK-12 school settings where curriculum aligns with California's adopted content standards.
  • Experience mentoring teachers and/or teacher credential candidates.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills that nurture and empower teachers.

Responsibility to Credential Candidates

  • Needs to commit to spending time with the candidate to promote quality experiences.
  • Available for scheduled meetings virtually to meet with candidates, the Clinical Coordinator (CC), other School of Education support team members, and professional development presented by the Director of Clinical Services

Work Environment:

A remote adjunct work environment is a flexible, virtual setting where instructors deliver course content, engage with students, and fulfill academic responsibilities from a remote location. This environment typically relies on digital communication tools, learning management systems (LMS), and virtual collaboration platforms to facilitate teaching and interaction

Compensation:

The following salary range reflects compensation paid for a 4.5-unit course (151.87 hours). The hiring range for this position is $5184.00 to $5634.00. Offers are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: geographical location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
