This is a remote position.

Role Name: Medical Billing Assistant

Schedule: Flexible during the client's business hours, with a focus on Monday documentation processing | Atlanta, USA (Eastern Time)

Paid hours per week: 20 hours



Job Overview

Responsibilities
  • Process and input detailed clinical documentation for 25-60 weekly patient visits

  • Manage medical billing processes using provided coding guidelines

  • Coordinate with healthcare facilities to obtain and verify insurance information

  • Serve as key liaison between medical facilities and third-party billing partners

  • Download and distribute medical records to appropriate facilities

  • Track and follow up on missing documentation and insurance information

  • Provide daily activity reports and updates on all external communications

  • Maintain organized documentation systems following HIPAA guidelines

  • Process existing documentation backlog efficiently

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all administrative tasks



Requirements
  • Proven experience in medical billing and healthcare documentation

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and billing procedures

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

  • Professional communication skills for facility coordination

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality

  • Proficiency in email and standard office software

  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • Experience with healthcare facility coordination preferred
