The Graphic Production Artist is responsible for evaluating customer art files and creating print-ready proofs for production. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong design sensibility, and the ability to prepare pixel-perfect graphics that meet precise production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Creates digital graphic proofs for custom stickers and labels in accordance with production guidelines
• Evaluates and edits customer-provided digital artwork to meet production requirements:
- Ensures proper image size and resolution
- Adjusts inset margins, proportions, and sizes as needed
- Extends bleed margins as necessary
- Verifies and adjusts colors (e.g., RGB vs CMYK, Rich Blacks, Spot Colors, Overprint settings)
- Adds or replaces missing fonts or text as needed
- Ensures text size is appropriate for legibility
- Simplifies complex artwork when necessary (e.g., patterns, textures, high-res images, transparencies, clipping masks)
- Modifies images based on sticker/label materials and production limitations
- Maintains proof accuracy, including item grouping, spacing, and clean cut lines
- Applies visual effects for specialty substrates as applicable
• Collaborates with team members to ensure consistent and timely proof delivery
• Produces a high volume of image proofs, meeting weekly output goals as set by the manager
• Provides art enhancements such as:
- Rebuilding or upscaling images
- Touching up graphics
- Performing color corrections and matching
• Maintains and creates production templates
• Communicates any artwork issues to ensure a consistent and high-quality customer experience (may involve direct customer communication)
• Contributes ideas for continuous improvement of business operations
• Adapts to new products and production processes introduced as part of business strategy
