Job description

This internship is a unique professional learning opportunity for a student enrolled in a statistics degree program to get exposure to analysis and interpretation of clinical trial data. 


In this position you will:

  • Learn and apply the appropriate and accurate application of statistical methods to cardiovascular analysis for publications with input from senior level biostatisticians or Faculty as needed.
  • Learn SAS for programming, validation, analysis, and reporting for publications.
  • Work with other team members to get guidance on programming tasks, programming differences and investigate issues as appropriate.
  • Adhere to CPC standards and the goals and requirements of each study or task.
  • Support the planning, analysis, and presentation of non-study specific requests such as publications, abstracts, and ad hoc faculty requests.
  • Comply with statistical standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Work collaboratively within the biostatistics and programming department and with other departments as required.
  • Communicate on task related issues with colleagues in a timely manner.

 Skills Acquisition:

  • Exposure to real study data
  • Apply R programming to analyze real study data
  • Learn SAS programming
  • Expand knowledge base through mentorship by distinguished biostatisticians and faculty members
  • Potential author credit on publications
  • Comprehension of regulatory terminology and requirements for study protocols, statistical programs, analyses and reports
  • Exposure to study protocols and Statistical Analysis plans (SAPs)

Here’s what you will need to bring to the table:

  • Enrollment in a graduate or higher-level statistics degree program
  • Excellent analytical, communication and organizational skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Demonstrable programming knowledge with R, SAS or other relevant programming software
  • Foundational understanding of applicable regulatory and technical confidentiality requirements (e.g. ICH, GCP, GDP and FDA) for conducting clinical trials

Note: Viable applicants will be required to pass a background and education verification check.

 

Hours per Week: flexible – can be adjusted to school schedule

 

In-office Presence: fully remote is acceptable

 

Targeted Compensation: $20/hr

 

Internship Length: up to 3 months
