Summary: Practicum 0 trainees are first-year students in the Fuller Graduate School of Psychology’s Clinical Psychology Program. Practicum 0 trainees are closely supervised by advanced students (Practicum 0 Student Supervisors) and licensed psychologists (Dr. Pak and Dr. Simpson), who work closely with the trainees to help ensure they learn to provide therapy services in an effective, safe, and ethical manner, in preparation for seeing real clients during their second year. Practicum 0 Student Supervisors meet weekly with Practicum 0 trainees in a group-supervision context to directly observe trainees providing therapy to the actor clients. They also meet with trainees each week to review therapy videos and SOAP notes. Practicum 0 Student Supervisors also receive weekly “supervision of supervision” from licensed faculty. Finally, Practicum 0 Student Supervisors coordinate scheduling with the actor clients assigned to their group.
