Senior PHP Developer - 3 Month Contract

FE fundinfo is a global leader in investment fund data and technology. We are looking for a temporary Senior PHP Developer for an initial period of 3 months. 

Your key responsibilities as a Senior PHP Developer will include to:

• Collaborate with the Technical Lead and other developers in building and delivering the product roadmap 

• Responsible for designing and developing web-based applications and integrating with related backend systems 

• Assist with technical direction to the team and be a key contributor to Product Development and Release Cycles 

• Assist with maintaining the overall architecture for all systems/programs/initiatives 

• Implement object-oriented design principles and patterns 

• Develop highly performant, scalable & secure applications 

• Be involved in defining and applying development best practices in a large distributed development team 

• Help to build reusable code and libraries for future use 

• Help to ensure a high standard of work through code reviews, coaching and management. Help set and enforce quality standards and best practices within the team 

• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to other developers 

• Implement and help determine strategies on how to reduce technical debt 

• Communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization 

• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders 

• Assist with monitoring alerting systems and managing system alerts 

• Assist with infrastructure upgrades & change control of infrastructure 

• Remain knowledgeable of current technology and carry out research to identify new trends that can be used to achieve maximum results 

• Carry out other technical related duties that may be required 

To join us as a Senior PHP Developer, you will need the following skills and experience:

• You must have 7+ years of experience and excellent knowledge of PHP 

• You must have 7+ years of experience with PHP MVC frameworks, ideally Laravel 

• You must have 7+ years experience in web technologies including JSON/XML, WebAPIs, RESTful APIs 

• You must have 6+ years of experience with relational databases, e.g. MySQL 

• You must have 7+ years of experience and strong understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
