Individual Giving Manager (FTC)

Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. We’re looking for a creative mind and empathetic team manager to join our Mass Fundraising team in managing our cash and appeals function. This team delivers inspiring fundraising campaigns to attract new supporters and build relationships with our existing donors. You’ll also be responsible for overseeing the delivery of one of the UK’s most well-known fundraising appeals: the Great Daffodil Appeal. By overseeing some of our biggest organisational fundraising moments you will be pivotal in the generation of income and support for Marie Curie.

Marie Curie has ambitious plans to double the number of people we can provide direct care and support to over the next five years. As the Individual Giving Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing our cash giving strategy and leading key fundraising moments, including our annual Christmas appeal and the Great Daffodil Appeal.

Your efforts will help ensure that everyone affected by dying, death, and bereavement has the best possible experience, reflecting what’s important to them. You will manage a team of 6 and oversee the delivery of over £3.5m net income annually, making a significant impact on our fundraising goals.

Main responsibilities:

• Establish a clear direction and plan to achieve net contribution growth for Marie Curie.
• Promote cross-organisational collaboration to embed our integrated appeals approach and oversee the full experience of the product audience.
• Manage and oversee the allocation and prioritisation of projects to deliver the product strategy.
• Manage 6 direct reports, setting clear objectives and providing development opportunities.
• Develop ways of working to ensure high performance and an excellent supporter experience.
• Develop appropriate systems and procedures to meet statutory and organisational requirements, allowing the Cash Team to run effectively.

Key Criteria:

• Solid understanding of direct marketing and fundraising principles, fundraising rules and regulations, and the external charity environment.
• Proven experience in building strategic plans, ensuring progression of objectives, and project delivery success.
• Previous people management experience with demonstrable ability to lead high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with the ability to build good relationships at multiple levels.
• Practical knowledge of campaign management, managing marketing budgets, monitoring, and using data effectively to drive results.
• Passion and dedication to Marie Curie’s cause to inspire others and foster commitment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally across the UK and visit our London office 1-2 times a month.

Salary: £44,550 – 45,000 per annum depending on experience

Contract: Fixed-term (contract ends in August 2026), full-time (35 hours per week)

Based: Home-based with occasional travel to Embassy Gardens office in London or other locations.
