Job Description:
The Ultrasound Tech is responsible for performing a variety of ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions and monitoring patient health.
Requirements:
Associate's degree in Allied Health education program or higher (diagnostic medical sonography, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing) and 12 months of full-time clinical ultrasound/vascular experience; or 2. Diploma or degree from an ultrasound/vascular program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Canadian Medical Association (CMA); or 3. Bachelor's degree (any major) and 12 months of full-time clinical ultrasound/vascular experience; or 4. Bachelor's degree in sonography or vascular technology.
Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) required.
Must obtain certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required within six months of eligibility;
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working as an Ultrasound Technologist in a hospital or medical imaging facility preferred.
Additional certification in specialized ultrasound modalities (e.g., abdominal, obstetric, vascular) preferred.
BLS preferred upon hire, required within 90 days of hire.
