Position Overview
For the AIOps / Observability team we are looking for a highly motivated Site Reliability Engineering Intern to join
our team. As a Site Reliability Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for supporting us in enhancing our
observability and visualization. You will work with experienced Senior Cloud Operations engineers and under direct
supervision of Lead Site Reliability Engineer. The ideal candidate will have solid understanding of observability
tooling, Web Applications and relevant frontend languages.
 
 
Capstone Overview
The capstone project, "Real User Monitoring with Grafana," focuses on real-time monitoring of web applications. It consists of two phases: the first involves training on the Grafana stack and Real User Monitoring (RUM) SDK, analyzing observability use cases, and documenting findings. The second phase includes implementing the RUM SDK in a web application, documenting collected metrics and logs, validating SDK calls, and creating a Grafana dashboard to visualize data. Deliverables include modified web application source code and a dashboard showcasing collected metrics. This project provides hands-on experience with observability tools, real-time monitoring, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), while also benefiting the organization with documented use cases and a sample web application for easier adoption of RUM methodologies. Responsibilities include analyzing and documenting RUM use cases, SDK structure, and monitoring metrics, as well as assisting with task documentation and knowledge transfer to ensure clear and comprehensive documentation for future implementations.

Responsibilities:
  • Willingness to dig deep into code, networking, operating systems, and/or storage solutions to solve complex issues
  • Develop automation and monitoring tools to ensure system reliability
  • Participate in incident response and troubleshooting
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure software design meets operational requirements
  • Continuously improve processes and procedures to increase system reliability and efficiency

  • Nice to have:
  • Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience in software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with observability and logging technologies
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, preferably Terraform
  • Experience with Grafana and Loki
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
