This is a remote, home-based internship. Full time students from all US geographies will be considered. Our 2025 Summer internship program is an 8-week Paid Internship that runs from June 2nd – July 25th, at 37.5 hours weekly. The program will join interns across the country who are supporting different department focuses on American Cancer Society and ACS's Cancer Action Network. 80% of the time will be in working within the given department, with the Intern's manager, their mentor, and the team. The other 20% will be with a cohort of other interns around American Cancer Society and ACS CAN.
The IT Intern will support the development and administration of IT documentation processes, helping to establish standards and structure for creating, managing, storing, reviewing, and updating IT-related documents. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT operations, knowledge management, and process improvement within a structured and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and implementing standards for IT documentation.
- Organize and maintain a centralized repository for IT-related documents.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and up to date.
- Conduct regular audits to identify outdated or incomplete documentation.
- Develop and maintain templates for different types of IT documents.
- Provide recommendations for streamlining documentation processes and workflows.
- Support the review and approval process for new or updated documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Able to develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with data warehouse standards.
- Demonstrate effective verbal and/or written communication skills.
- Ability to think critically while making decisions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
- Possess strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel report and dashboard creation.
- Experience working with Excel data functions such as Vlookup or Pivot Tables.
- Experience using SQL a plus.
Position Requirements:
- Must be available for entirety of 8-week program: June 2 – July 25, 2025, at 37.5 hours per week.
- Full-time student, if you are an undergraduate student, you have completed your freshman year of college.
- Have a minimum of a B average (cumulative 3.0 on 4.0 scale);
- Plan to continue your education in the following term/semester;
- Upload a resume upon application submission.
- Note: an internship assignment may coincide with your last term/trimester as a full-time student, but the internship must be disengaged upon graduation.
The rate for this position is $15/hour. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended.
