Job description

This is a remote position.

Work Schedule: 

Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm Victoria, British Columbia time with 1 hour unpaid break (8 paid hours per day)

About the role

As a Junior Accountant you will play a pivotal role in preparing and managing bookkeeping operations for multiple clients. Your expertise in bookkeeping, payroll management, and accounting software will be key in supporting our clients' financial needs.


Key Responsibilities:

·       Prepare day-to-day bookkeeping operations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of tasks.

·       Manage client accounts and ensure accurate financial statements, reports, and reconciliations are prepared.

·       Provide payroll services for both US and Canadian clients, ensuring compliance with relevant payroll regulations.

·       Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Gusto, Fathom, and Karbon to manage financial records, reports, and workflows.

·       Collaborate with accounting firms to support tax-related work and provide insights into financial data.

·       Stay updated on best practices and changes in accounting regulations for both the US and Canada.


Qualifications / Skills:
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • At least 2 - 3 years of experience in bookkeeping / accounting
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Xero
  • Solid understanding of US or Canadian payroll processes and regulations.
