Research Associate - Contractor

Overview

Apex Leaders custom-recruits industry experts for our private equity firm clients. Through a bespoke process, we research, vet, and connect our clients with the most relevant, skilled advisors so that they can quickly and confidently navigate investment opportunities.

We are seeking a resourceful and autonomous Research Specialist Contractor to support our Client Services team. This contract position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong research skills and the ability to manage multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have experience conducting in-depth research across various industries, sourcing potential advisors, and cleansing data for market mapping. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential for ensuring accurate and high-quality market intelligence.

 

This position is remote based at our headquarters in Boise, ID or out of one of the following states: Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, New York, Florida, or Nebraska.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Specialist Contractor to support our team on a weekly basis. In this role, you will leverage your research and recruiting expertise to identify industry leaders who align with our clients' needs, as well as contribute to the creation and refinement of market maps by cleansing and validating data.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct in-depth research across various industries and sectors to identify potential advisors, utilizing resources and channels such as professional networks, industry associations, and trade publications to source candidates.
  • Cleanse and validate data from AI-generated market maps to ensure accuracy and create client-ready deliverables. This includes fact-checking company information, ensuring the completeness and consistency of the data, and conducting supplementary research to enhance market insights.
  • Collaborate effectively with a Client Services Director to understand requirements and ensure successful request delivery.
  • Manage multiple research projects with changing priorities.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including managing multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with an understanding of business.
  • Experience with qualitative research or recruitment is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Google Sheets

Additional Details:

  • This is a 1099 contract role. Minimum of 5 hours per week, up to 40. Anticipated weekly hours will be determined in two week time blocks. 
  • The position is remote.
  • Compensation: $25/hour. This is a contract role with no benefits package.
