The Industrial National Practice Leader is accountable for developing and leading the practice’s overall strategy specific to revenue generation and driving competitive advantage for the practice’s sector within the industry. This includes leading the end-to-end market growth strategies of their practice that ensure high quality of work advancing existing client relationships while constantly expanding the addition of new opportunities with the support of their practice leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- GROW the practice in terms of client relationships, revenue and operating profit by developing, communicating and delivering on a Practice Area Strategic Plan based on in depth knowledge of the industry evolution and the opportunities and threats presented by that evolution.
- LEAD the Practice, internally and externally, and leverage and evolve the capabilities of the firm while leading and working with other NELSON leadership including Business, Regional, and other Practice Leaders as it relates to their specific practice.
- COLLOBORATE with SME’s to position NELSON as a Thought Leader in the associated practice area or platform by expressing our data, research, insights, and knowledge delivering innovative and sustainable design in the local, regional and national marketplace.
- LEAD development of collateral materials for Stakeholders to advance the practice, to share with clients to promote services, gain interest and expand our service offerings for our clients in the relevant practice area.
- Translate industry knowledge and build a team which develops and executes the go-to-market
- Foster an environment with contacts and connections for business development
- Continuously monitor and analyze Nelson’s technology investment needs for the practice
- LEAD the RFP assessment/response/pitch
- Partner with Sales in opportunity analysis and identification or assessment of potential
- In collaboration with Marketing, local/regional/other leadership, create and perform ongoing national, local and regional competitor analysis that demonstrates key strengths and weaknesses of industry leading firms servicing this sector.
- LEAD all pricing strategies in conjunction with Business Leader, Business Development Leader and/or National Client Development Leader that weigh and balance revenue targets, service capabilities, market pricing and operational costs assuring
- Partner with the Business Leader to balance a team which from the Practice Leader’s perspective is focused on revenue development and maximizing our value proposition and from a Business Leader’s perspective maximizes EBITDA.
- Develop methods for enhancing and measuring market penetration within different Practice and Service Develop and maintain 1, 3, and 5-year plans for client targets and market positioning.
- In partnership with Human Resources, develop, participate in, and execute succession planning, including the transition of important client
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience developing relationships with new and existing clients that would enhance the Firm's competitive advantage and positioning in the relevant sector.
- Proven track record of success in working in a senior leadership role, driving revenue an sales, including participation in the development of client relationships that lead to new and continuing business.
- Proven leadership and management skills, including the ability to develop collaborative relationships that lead to successful results, within the firm and externally - with clients, consultants, and other key participants in the design and development process.

To perform this job successfully, an individual is required to be proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and Outlook), Microsoft Visio and/or Business Intelligence tools as used for business performance reporting. Strong proficiency in Deltek and facilitating virtual meetings in Zoom, HubSpot, Teams, etc.
Certificates, Licenses or Registrations preferred:
- NCIDQ, AIA, LEED or WELL preferred
Education/ Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Real Estate, Planning, Interior Design, Business Administration, or Information Management from an accredited University. 15+ years relevant industry experience preferred, or equivalent in appropriate education and experience.
National salary range: $160,000 – $230,000 (15+ years experience). Additional compensation includes bonuses and benefits (compensation factors are based upon years of relevant experience, qualifications/licensure, education, and location.) Bonuses can include but are not limited to: Long Term Incentive Plan, Short Term Incentive Plan, Profit Sharing
