Job description

We are looking for an Senior Safety Engineer with 8 to 13 years of Experience for our esteemed client for the Bangalore / Gurugram Locations.

Key Skills: Systems Engineering Life Cycle, processes and principles, requirements development, requirements management and the use of requirements tools, Systems Engineering and Assurance area.

Primary Objective:
• Detailed knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines including:
• ONRSR Major Project Guideline (Office of National Rail Safety Regulator)
• ONRSR Meaning of Duty to Ensure Safety SFAIRP Guideline (“so far as is reasonably practicable”)- In other terms ALRP (As low as reasonably possible)
• EN50126/8/9 (European standard for RAMS)- (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety)
• RISSB Systems Safety Assurance Guideline (Railway Industry Safety and Standards Board)
• Prepare, Facilitate and Report on Hazard Analysis activities (SiD, PHA, SHA, SSHA, OSHA, IHA). (Various types of Hazard Analysis) – Priliminary, System, Sub System, Interface, Operation and support
• Undertake FMECA and FTA analysis (Failure Mode, Effect and Criticality Analysis)
• Develop Safety Statement and Safety Assurance Report (also called as safety case)
• Develop System Safety Case for critical milestone
• Undertake RAM Analysis and prepare RAM Assurance report
• Prepare and manage Hazard Log
• Prepare and Manage RAM Log
• Achieving engineering and project milestones within the project schedule
• Conducting system assurance activities in accordance with systems engineering framework based upon ISO/IEEE standards
• Participate Assurance gate submission for smaller projects
• Contributing to design reviews, workshops, integration, test and site installation activities
• Working as part of a project or bid team for and of delivery mission-critical capability
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
• Must ensure that the tools being used are appropriate for delivery and handover of projects
• Works very closely with projects to ensure that operational deployment is a success
• Must endure appropriate support provided to make the entire project a success
Requirements
• A strong background in Systems Safety, RAM and Assurance
• Practical experience in all phases of the Systems Engineering Life Cycle, processes and principles.
• Practical experience in System Safety and RAM Management and using relevant tools.
• Experience of integration, verification, validation
• Experience in undertaking Systems Assurance activities such as Gate Submission to support successful delivery through to assurance gates
• A high level of interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
