In your role as Senior Engineering Manager, you play a key and fundamental role for Zelestra in Germany. You are responsible for the management of all engineering tasks during the planning and construction phase of our Solar, Wind and Bess projects in Germany. You will work within a small team of dedicated colleagues and set the steps for scale up of business.

Responsibilities

  • Participation in renewable energy projects (PV, wind, and BESS) from the conceptual phase until the operation in Germany.
  • Support our project development and M&A team during the development stages of the projects.
  • Management, coordination, assignment, completion and controlling of all engineering tasks (mechanical, electric, civil, and grid-related) internally and externally on a project level to create a holistic and commercially optimized power plant / BESS design.
  • Participate in site visit or evaluation of site visit reports from other stakeholders to understand site constraints and risks for planning and execution.
  • Support during the procurement, review, and ensuring consideration during the design phase of all site studies.
  • Conduct and review yield simulation and energy yield forecasting.
  • Optimize the design to maximize project valuation / IRR through innovative layout concepts / design variants to increase utilization ratio, plant performance optimization and component selection.
  • Review of design packages for foregoing project phases such as development, M&A, planning, ready to build. Provide the design packages for NTP, tendering and execution.
  • Manage interfaces with the headquarter in Spain, mainly with the central procurement and engineering department.
  • Support during the component selection and take part in discussions with suppliers to finalize the technical specifications.
  • Conduct a technical due diligence and interfacing with technical advisors in our M&A and project acquisition processes.
  • Support the project team and providing the related design and BOM during the execution of the project and for securing major project milestones such as NTP, Mechanical Completion, COD, and PAC.
  • Providing and managing the technical specifications for the procurement of the components and BOM for the tendering of subcontractor for installation services.
  • Managing the As-Built documentation process together with procurement and the onsite construction team to create e.g. the Operation and Maintenance manuals.
  • Supporting the O&M and Asset Management teams with respect to warranty management and clarification of operational issues with component suppliers.

Job Requirements

  • Academic degree in engineering, renewable energies or similar with a focus on energy technology or infrastructure.
  • Experience in renewable energies in Germany.
  • Competent use of MS Office applications, AutoCAD and PVsyst.
  • Ability to handle complex problems with multiple international stakeholders, to work independently and under one’s own responsibility, capacity to quickly adapt and relate to new tasks.
  • Positive “can-do” attitude and enthusiasm to learn.
  • Business fluent in German and English
  • Strong negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong communication, persuasive and assertive skills.
  • Strong willingness to teamwork and collaborate.
  • Passion to lead the World towards a clean energy future.
