Oversee the entire model development process from data selection, preprocessing, model building, validation, and deployment, ensuring high standards of reliability and validity.
  • Operational and Risk Analytics Oversight: Monitor and analyze the performance of deployed models, continuously seeking improvements and efficiencies. Lead efforts to understand complex fraud patterns and provide actionable insights that can preempt potential fraud activities.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Attract, hire, and retain top talent in the field of data science. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team, ensuring team members are motivated and equipped to meet their objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting: Regularly interact with senior management and cross-functional teams to report on fraud trends, model performance, and the impact of data science initiatives. Provide strategic recommendations based on analytical findings to guide executive decisions.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience: At least 10 years in analytics, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing a data science team. Experience in fraud detection or risk management in a financial setting is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using statistical computer languages (Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets. Experience with big data technologies and machine learning frameworks.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate insights and complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop teams.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to apply data science to solve real-world problems strategically, with a keen eye on both immediate and long-term business impacts.

This role is crucial for driving forward our capabilities in fraud detection and risk management through innovative data science strategies. The head of this department will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our operations and enhancing the integrity of our customer transactions.
