As we enter the next phase of company growth, we are seeking dynamic people to help lead the journey.

We are seeking a Hardware Manufacturing Engineer to bridge the gap between product design, test engineering and mass production- ensuring efficient and high-quality manufacturing processes, test fixtures, automation equipment, data collection and documentation. This role involves working closely with design and test teams, contract manufacturers, and other stakeholders to develop and optimize the tools, systems, and workflows required to test, validate, and produce our products at scale.

**While this role is remote, we do need someone with the ability to travel to HQ and CM in OH on a regular basis**

  • Optimize design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)

Testing and Validation:

  • Design and build test fixtures, tools, and automated systems to validate product performance during development and verify incoming quality during production.
  • Establish robust testing protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing and validation processes.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency, quality, and scalability.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and reduce production costs.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in manufacturing technologies and IoT-related trends.

Supplier and Vendor Collaboration:

  • Develop systems to inspect and document component quality and vendor performance
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions when necessary.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including work instructions, process flows, quality data and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, certifications, and safety standards.

 Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing and engineering environment. Product development, fabrication, IoT or electronics knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA/DFx principles and manufacturing processes (e.g., PCB assembly, injection molding, machining and metal fabrication, measurement, GD&T, Gage R&R).
  • Experience with test system development, automation, data acquisition and engineering validation processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (Solidworks) and data analysis (python, jupyter, matlab).
  • Proficiency with data collection and electronics measurement tools (e.g., microcontrollers, multimeter, oscilloscope, load cell and measurement circuits)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting.
  • Strong organization, project management and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9000 family and lean manufacturing methodologies is a plus.
