Job description

3 billion people across the world work in frontline jobs. Yet, despite rising costs and staff shortages, frontline organisations are still left to choose between paper, Excel, and WhatsApp, or decade-old workforce management solutions to take care of the most important part of their businesses - their people.

Enter Sona: the next generation of AI-native, frontline workforce management. We’ve built an end-to-end platform covering Scheduling, HR, Payroll, and Communications that gives the largest frontline organisations everything they need to staff more intelligently and empower their teams.

In under 4 years, we’ve already made a deep impact on the lives of over 100k frontline workers and the operation of their organisations, grown the team to 110+, and secured over $50M in funding from notable VC’s, including Felicis, Northzone, Gradient Ventures (Google), SpeedInvest, Antler, and Notion Capital, plus notable angels like Tom Blomfield (Monzo).

It’s a hugely exciting time to be joining the team as we’re still small enough that you’ll have a significant impact on the company’s growth trajectory and culture, yet large enough to have a great structure, experienced leaders and world-class benefits in place. More on working at Sona here.

About the Role

As Solutions Consultant at Sona, you'll play a crucial role in the commercial team by bridging the gap between technical capabilities and business needs. Providing expert technical insights, delivering tailored product demonstrations, and addressing complex requirements to drive informed purchasing decisions.

As we scale, we’re building a world-class presales function to support our growing sales team and help customers realise the value of our solution.

Joining the founding Solutions team, you’ll play a crucial role in driving revenue by partnering with Account Executives to deliver compelling product demonstrations, technical expertise, and strategic guidance to potential customers in frontline industries. You’ll be instrumental in helping prospects understand how our technology solves their problems, ensuring smooth technical evaluations, and influencing deal outcomes.

Responsibilities

Day to day, you'll:

  • Be the technical expert in the sales process, working alongside a talented team to uncover and address customer pain points.

  • Partner with sales to tailor and lead technical demonstrations and discussion to showcase Sona’s products' value.

  • Showcase new or customisable capabilities in the Sona product.

  • Own the technical sales cycle, from discovery calls to proof-of-concept engagements and RFP responses.

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Implementation to relay customer feedback and ensure seamless handovers.

  • Build deep expertise in our platform and become a trusted advisor to prospects and customers.

  • Develop and refine technical sales assets, including demo environments, documentation, and competitive insights.

Requirements

  • We don’t have strict requirements but hopefully lots of the following apply to you:

    • Experience as a Sales Engineer, Solution Consultant, or Technical Presales role, with a strong track record of selling and implementing technical products; experience in workforce management is a plus.

    • It’s a bonus if you deeply understand the needs and technologies our frontline customers use (Social Care or Hospitality).

    • Experienced working with complex software solutions that have multiple products.

    • You’re confident in communication with C-Suite and senior stakeholders in Finance and Operations.

    • You can explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

    • Excellent communication and storytelling skills—you can translate complex technical concepts into simple, compelling narratives.

    • A consultative, problem-solving mindset with the ability to tailor solutions to different customer needs.

    • Able to collaborate effectively with the wider team, including sales, product and implementation.

    • You thrive in a fast growing start up environment - scrappy, adaptable and willing to get your hands dirty.
