About the Company

Gemini is a global crypto and Web3 platform founded by Tyler Winklevoss and Cameron Winklevoss in 2014. Gemini offers a wide range of crypto products and services for individuals and institutions in over 70 countries.

Crypto is about giving you greater choice, independence, and opportunity. We are here to help you on your journey. We build crypto products that are simple, elegant, and secure. Whether you are an individual or an institution, we help you buy, sell, and store your bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

At Gemini, our mission is to unlock the next era of financial, creative, and personal freedom.

The Department: Information Security

In the emerging industry of digital assets, there is nothing more important than trust. The Gemini security team forms the backbone of trust. In fact, Gemini’s very first hires were security specialists and we continue to tackle unique challenges in the crypto space.  Our team ensures that our customers, clients, and employees are safe, secure, and supported.

The Role: Senior Technical Program Manager

As a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will drive complex, cross-functional InfoSec initiatives for teams that juggle frequent operational “firefighting” alongside planned security projects. You wear three technical hats: agilista, project manager, and program manager. You bring a pragmatic agile mindset, excel at identifying and removing blockers, and thrive in both fast-paced corporate and production environments. Your focus is on enabling full transparency, aligning priorities, optimizing processes, and ensuring on-time, high-quality security outcomes through hands-on collaboration with technical teams, clear communication, and proactive risk mitigation. Overall, the right candidate is a seasoned PM/Agile professional with enough technical and InfoSec knowledge to credibly drive and deliver security-focused projects in a cloud operations environment, plus the communication and leadership skills to keep cross-functional teams on track—even when “firefighting” incidents regularly disrupt the schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Align Priorities & Schedules: Collaborate with InfoSec leads to define realistic timelines, ensuring day-to-day operational demands don’t derail project goals.
  • Facilitate Agile Workflows: Introduce or refine lightweight processes (e.g., Kanban, Scrumban) to handle operations without compromising strategic milestones.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Use your technical expertise to identify and address complex technical or scheduling risks early, guiding the team in making informed decisions that balance immediate incident response with longer-term security initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Provide transparent reporting on progress, dependencies, and blockers, enabling swift decision-making across engineering, security, and other stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate communication channels, tooling, and collaboration methods to boost productivity and deliver secure solutions at scale.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience overseeing, steering, and delivering complex engineering projects in fast-paced, operationally heavy cloud environments.
  • High emotional intelligence - knowing how to motivate, mentor, and support teams dealing with operationally heavy workloads.
  • Strong knowledge of agile practices, CI/CD, and DevOps culture, with a proven ability to adapt workflows for frequent unplanned tasks.
  • Experience building and operating complex workflows, integrations, and automations using Jira.
  • Technical acumen (engineering, computer science, or related background) and comfortable enough with the tech stack enabling you to grasp complex challenges,  remove blockers, and facilitate meaningful technical discussions to guide teams effectively.
  • Hands-on (not passive) Information Security expertise, whether through dedicated security roles or engineering projects with a security emphasis.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and communication skills, with the capacity to keep cross-functional teams aligned under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of cryptocurrency exchanges or the fintech security landscape.
  • Experience scaling fast-paced, global engineering teams and programs.
  • Expertise in data analytics, data engineering, or business intelligence.

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $136,000 - $190,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.

In the United States, we have a flexible hybrid work policy for employees who live within 30 miles of our office headquartered in New York City and our office in Seattle. Employees outside of these areas are considered part of our remote-first workforce. We believe our hybrid approach for those near our NYC and Seattle offices increases productivity through more in-person collaboration where possible.

At Gemini, we strive to build diverse teams that reflect the people we want to empower through our products, and we are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status.
