The Education and Labor Cabinet is seeking to fill Workers’ Compensation Coverage & Compliance Investigator I position located within the Department of Workers’ Claims, Division of Security & Compliance Branch, Enforcement Section in Lexington, Kentucky. This position will work remotely.
The preferred candidate for this position will demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and work cooperatively with a team. The preferred candidate should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and a history of working with databases and reports.
Job Duties Include
- Under general guidance, conducts basic investigations of in-state and out-of-state employers for workers' compensation insurance coverage. Explains workers' compensation insurance coverage and compliance requirements.
- Collects, compiles, and transmits data reports (investigative and administrative) electronically, within predefined guidelines and time limitations.
- Contacts insurance carriers, insurance agents and other resources to obtain information for supplementing investigative reports.
- Explains employer responsibilities and provides answers to the public concerning the Workers’ Compensation Act. Provides public presentations, as requested.
- Testifies at citation hearings and other legal proceedings, as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
This position will have access to confidential and sensitive information. Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of experience in investigations, insurance claims adjusting, insurance underwriting, or in the fields of risk management employment or property and casualty insurance.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional related training will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess a valid driver's license at time of appointment in this classification. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification.
