As a Process Automation Engineer (m/f/d), you will be at the forefront of optimizing the performance of very-high-temperature heat pump (VHTHP). Your work will focus on designing control algorithms, developing strategies for various operating scenarios, and ensuring seamless system integration. Additionally, you will take ownership of software requirements specifications and contribute to system performance evaluation including system performance optimization leveraging AI and large data.
This position will be filled in Remscheid, Germany.

Your Responsibilities:
Designing and developing heat pump control algorithms and strategies for various market applications.
Implementing thermodynamic optimizations, performance evaluations, and data analysis to refine heat pump applications.
Drafting and maintaining software requirements specifications to align with customer needs.
Contributing to the design and integration of system components such as sensors, actuators, inverters, and grid connections.
Collaborating closely with the Lead Control Systems Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, and Lead Design Engineer to ensure smooth integration across disciplines.
Supporting the software release process and managing control software variants for specific applications.
Participating in design reviews, assessing data from testing and operation, and ensuring alignment between market requirements and system capabilities.
Providing training and mentorship to junior engineers and service/installation technicians.
Your Profile:
A degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Diploma) in engineering, automation, or a related field.
Proven experience in designing and implementing control systems for industrial applications.
Strong expertise in thermodynamic optimization, control algorithms, and software development.
Familiarity with data analysis tools and experience in using machine data for performance evaluations.
Knowledge of relevant standards and certifications, with a focus on industrial heat pump applications.
Exceptional collaboration skills and the ability to work across disciplines.
Fluency in English; proficiency in German is a strong advantage.
A flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to adapt to an evolving and dynamic work environment.
