About the role
We are seeking a talented and versatile Motion Designer, with a focus in Paid Social, to join our Brand & Creative team. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled designer with a strong focus on conversion-oriented design and a passion for telling visually compelling and impactful stories through video and animation. This role will be focused on paid social including Meta, Tiktok and Influencer, but will also support animation and video projects across various marketing channels including Youtube and long-form video, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Elevate and evolve Ethos design direction across paid channels including Meta, Tiktok, Influencer, Youtube and long-form video, while creating a consistent brand experience across all video and animation touch-points
- Design engaging and effective paid social ads, including static, animated, and video concepts ensuring optimal performance across different platforms, formats and resolutions
- Proficiency in industry-standard motion graphics software (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro) used to create high-quality video assets, including short-form video ads (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube shorts), long-form video (Youtube, explainer videos), and animated story ads
- Design a high volume of social media creatives working directly against a brief or existing design or concepting and designing net-new creatives. Must be able to storyboard and clearly present ideas before moving into production
- Ideal candidate would have interest in art direction and identifying and pitching ideas that create business or user value
- Collaborate efficiently with marketing and product design to tell Ethos’ story with compelling visuals, iconography, typography, photography, animation and infographics across all digital channels and platforms
Qualifications and Skills:
- 4-6 years of professional marketing design experience with a focus on motion and video design
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a variety of design styles and capabilities. Must showcase paid social experience to be considered
- Experience with conversion-oriented design and a proven ability to create high-performing paid social ads
- Demonstrated ability to use motion graphic animation techniques to bring designs to life and enhance storytelling
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Strong understanding of paid social formats, and online video delivery
- Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and composition
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster strong working relationships with team members and cross-functional partners
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Strong skills around critical thinking and storytelling
- Receptive to feedback in an iterative design process
- Able to work independently, drive multiple projects at a time, and iterate quickly
- Experience in DTC or financial services industry preferred

The US national base salary range for this full-time position is $91,000 - $148,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
