INTRO TO POSITION
This role actively collaborates with sales, production, and site development to ensure the accurate trafficking, implementation, and delivery of campaigns for NPR’s Sponsors.

An ideal candidate should have a strong interest in digital media, digital sponsorship, ad tech, data analysis or podcasting and enthusiasm for public media, its mission and its programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
A Campaign Associate manages between 25-35 campaigns that are in various stages of the post-sale cycle. This is a client-facing role, where this position will interact directly with sponsors, often responding to time-sensitive requests with revenue at stake. The orders a Campaign Associate is responsible for may range from $30k-$400k. The day-to-day campaign management includes:
- Pre-Launch Campaign Work:
- be an expert on and communicate details about product specs, required assets and data capabilities to support a positive client campaign experience post-sale
- manage banner, podcast and tag asset deadlines to ensure an on-time campaign launch
- provide expertise on several different tracking vendors, measuring performance, ad quality, attention, brand lift, etc.
- verify that assets comply with NPR’s Digital Guidelines and submit voice talent and host-read scripts to be recorded for podcast placements.
- secure custom NPR-created asset approvals from clients/agencies ahead of launch
- reserve inventory and accurately set up sponsorship campaigns in the ad servers
- facilitate several time-sensitive “quick start” campaigns each quarter (launching within 48 hours after receiving buy confirmation and creative assets).
- Campaign Maintenance During the Flight:
- support clients with their reporting and measurement needs
- provide deliverables to sponsors at intervals throughout the campaign, including things like launch confirmation, screenshots, air checks, monthly campaign highlights, daily/weekly data delivery reports, etc.
- execute creative or tag refreshes
- provide support on time-sensitive requests from sponsors (delivery reporting, creative/copy changes, technical product questions, etc.)
- reconcile monthly billing in our order management system to ensure clients receive accurate and timely invoices
- proactively monitor campaign pacing every week using NPR’s data management tool
- strategize and troubleshoot any campaign under-delivery with stakeholders on the sales and planning teams
- provide recommendations and optimizations to address under-delivery to sponsors to guarantee the campaign delivers in full, which often requires urgency due to upcoming campaign end dates. Delivering all planned revenue is a key
- performance metric for this role.
- Post-launch Wrap Up:
- provide final campaign delivery reports and billing confirmation
- build client relationships and facilitate renewal conversations by helping the sponsor evaluate attribution performance and other sponsor KPIs compared to NPR benchmarks

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, experience navigating projects with multiple deadlines, and an eagerness to problem-solve and work with data.
- 2 – 4 years work experience
- Must be proficient in MS Excel and comfortable working with large data sets; pivot table experience a plus
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; previous experience in a customer service or client-facing role is a plus.
- Experience operating under time pressure urgency and fielding time-sensitive requests from clients/stakeholders
- The candidate must be attentive to detail, able to work independently and as part of a larger team, and have previous experience with project management involving multiple stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in ad-serving platforms such as Google Ad Manager 360, Megaphone or AdsWizz a plus
- Experience working with data visualization tools or performance data analysis a plus
- Experience working with third-party tags, attribution or research tag vendors a plus, including GCM, Amazon Ads/Sizmek, Spotify Ad Analytics, Claritas, and Barometric etc., a plus
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in work experience
WORK LOCATION
- Remote Permitted: This is a remote permitted role. This role is based out of our Washington, DC office but the employee may choose to work on a remote basis from a location that NPR approves.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Project Management: Must have project management experience and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate on a large team in a fast-paced environment with large amounts of money at stake.
- Numbers-Focused: Must be proficient in MS Excel and comfortable working with math, formulas and data.
- Organization Skills: Must have attention to detail, ability to work independently and ability to manage multiple priorities at a time.
JOB TYPE
- This is a full-time, exempt position.
COMPENSATION
Salary Range: The U.S. based anticipated salary range for this opportunity is $57,000 - $61,000 plus benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salaries NPR expects to provide for new hires for the position across all US locations.
Benefits: NPR offers access to comprehensive benefits for employees and dependents. Regular, full-time employees scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week are eligible to enroll in NPR’s benefits options.
