Field Scientific Director - NYC (Remote) - 25-115

The Field Scientific Director (FSD) is a field-based scientific expert that strategically supports the scientific and business objectives of Medical Affairs and reports into the Executive Director, Field Scientific Directors. The FSD is responsible for scientific exchange with Health Care Providers (HCPs) and key decision makers (managed care, payers, formulary committees, etc.) on Elevar products, relevant disease states, and in support of clinical trials. This position combines a strong business acumen, disease state knowledge, clinical knowledge/experience, market awareness, and serves as a conduit for Elevar’s scientific data to external customers while providing external market and clinical insights internally to cross-functional teams. This is a remote-based position located in the United States with an opportunity in the following region: NYC.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, with the assistance of the Executive Director, Field Scientific Directors, and execute territory initiatives including HCP and investigator engagement plans in alignment with the Medical Affairs strategic plans
• Identify KOLs and cultivate professional relationships
• Maintain cross-functional field partnerships allowing for appropriate collaboration with field Commercial teams (Sales, Market Access, etc.) and Clinical Development associates
• Maintain and develop synergistic relationships with KOLs to expand research, advisory, and educational partnership opportunities
• Develop scientific expertise on Elevar Therapeutics, related disease states, and the clinical practice for the given products
• Be knowledgeable of and follow all applicable laws, SOPs, and guidance documents ensuring compliance
• Communicate scientific content, written and verbal, related to Elevar products and related disease states
• Provide scientific training to internal colleagues
• Identify, categorize, and communicate key clinical insights related to assigned disease state and products

• Masters, MD, NP, PA, DO, PharmD, or PhD in Life Sciences with 5+ years of oncology experience, 3+ years of solid tumor experience is required
• 3+ years of Medical Science Liaison experience required
• 3+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience required
• Proven director-level/functional area management experience demonstrating business acumen, developing and delivering functional/department strategy, delivering results, championing innovation, coaching and developing subordinates including remote and cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of clinical research design and GCP in the oncology area
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of clinical research trial design and study analysis including cost-effectiveness and other high-level HEOR evidence approaches
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of local healthcare systems, treatment guidelines, and decision-making
• A combination of experiences at small/start-up biopharmaceutical company and established biopharmaceutical companies is preferred
• Experience with payor groups, Market Access teams, formulary committees, and treatment guidelines

The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is $205,000 to $240,000. Final compensation depends on multiple factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skillset, depth and breadth of knowledge, internal equity, and external market factors.
