Summary

We are looking for a Team Lead of Prelitigation Paralegals to join our growing team. The role demands hands-on expertise in case management, training and achieving departmental goals. Your tasks will include managing a prelitigation paralegal team and ensuring all case management and medical management tasks are being followed by your team members for best possible client care. You will report to the Prelitigation Manager.


  

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Case Management:
  • Oversee and ensure file movement with efficient case management, timely progress, and adherence to firm standards.

2.  Workflow Coordination:

  • Monitor and prioritize tasks. 
  • Cover for team members when they are out of the office.

3.  Evaluation and Training: 

  • Train new and existing team members on best practices to firm standards.  Assist the team in learning how to gather evidence, report claims, review medical records, and assess liability and damages.
  • Provide guidance and expertise in identifying potential case strengths and weaknesses.

4.  Client Communication: 

  • Ensure effective communication with clients throughout the pre-litigation phase, addressing their concerns, providing updates, and managing expectations. 
  • Resolve client complaints if their team members cannot resolve them.

5.  Performance and Knowledge sharing:

  • Monitor the team's performance and provide regular updates to the Manager of Pre- Litigation on key performance indicators, case progress, and potential bottlenecks. 
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the team to share knowledge, discuss case updates, provide feedback, and address any challenges.
  • Collaborate with the paralegal assistant team leads to streamline processes for better outcomes. 
Requirements
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience practicing personal injury law, with a focus on pre-litigation work, is typically expected. 
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is highly desirable.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team, set goals, and drive results. 
  • Experience in training, building work instructions, and measuring performance (completing performance reviews, documenting corrective action) preferred.
  • Experience in coaching for performance and providing documentation to showcase gaps in performance preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with team members. 
  • Strong people skills to build relationships, resolve conflicts, and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously,
  • Commitment to providing excellent client service, including the ability to empathize with clients, address their concerns, and manage their expectations throughout the process.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality. 
  • Required to work up to 45 hours per week.
