To execute our strategy, we are looking to strengthen our organization with an Account Manager for our OMNI division.
Key Responsibilities
The Account Manager will report to the Sr. Vice President, Sales for OMNI in the Grand Rapids, MI location. The Account Manager is accountable for strategic growth and support of assigned customers in the automotive OEM and tier markets. Responsibilities include developing strong relationships with customers, connecting with key stakeholders and preparing sales reports. Regular communication is critical for keeping things positive and productive, and Account Managers need an organized system for sharing information, proposing solutions and giving updates. Must be able to read prints and ensure RFQ packages are complete and accurate.
In this role, they will:
- Ensure high level of support for all assigned customers and prospective new customers; gaining new and maintaining existing business with the highest possible long-term profitability
- Continuously monitor “total customer satisfaction” through formal (scorecards, key performance indicators) and informal means
- Overcome challenges by proposing solutions to issues and communicating opportunities for improvement internally to effectively lead resolution of issues (quality, delivery, technical support, price)
- Engage in activities to enhance profitability i.e. raw material pass through, collection of obsolescence costs, terms compliance, cost reductions
- Partner with Customers’ Purchasing and Engineering Groups but also maintain relationship with other Customer Groups such as Operations, Scheduling, Quality
- Effectively manage time between supporting current business and developing new business in complex and dynamic environment
- Receive RFQs for business and follow documented procedures to gather the information necessary to provide a quotation to the customer in a timely manner
- Coordinate and lead regular business reviews with key customers, requires effective preparation, facilitation and follow-up
- Proactively anticipate and resolve issues with customers or stakeholders and escalate timely to leadership
- Collaborate with supervisor to develop an annual sales plan and to achieve or exceed the sales
- Prepare regular sales reports and forecast updates as necessary (requires strong Excel)
- Work collaboratively and strategically with ECI technical groups to develop new business opportunities and execute cost take out activities at assigned customers
- Aid in the coordination of internal activities to support customer projects. i.e. product development, program management, operations management, customer support
- Lead negotiation of customer contracts and coordination of ECI internal team members following defined process
- Help evaluate and improve the business systems of the Sales Group
- Work independently but frequently inform supervisor of activity
- Able to work effectively in a home office
- All other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Technical degree is preferred but not required.
- Minimum 3 years of strategic selling with strong preference for industry experience within the supply base similar to Omni; specifically in a transportation, agriculture and construction, automotive, or similar OEM
- Strong communication skills with ability to interface with internal and external customers in fast paced and complex environment
- Effective presentation, negotiation and communication skills, both oral and written

- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills; strong critical thinking skills required

- Must be willing to travel frequently (up to 40%)
- Business acumen with a solution-oriented approach
- Must have an extremely proactive approach and take strong initiative and ownership
