Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled motivated and experienced Enterprise FHIR Architect to lead architectural runway and support implementation of healthcare interoperability using FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) standards. The ideal candidate will deeply understand FHIR and related technologies and provide architectural guidance, technical leadership, and strategic direction in integrating and modernizing healthcare systems. The Enterprise FHIR Architect proactively and holistically works with the enterprise and program delivery leaders managing architectural runway in support of enterprise initiatives. Creates architectural designs to guide planning and contextualize FHIR enabled solution development across products, services, initiatives and systems, including applications, technologies, processes and information The role leads advancement of healthcare interoperability capabilities by utilizing composability as a business strategy for leveraging modular technology in response to fast-changing business needs. The role focuses on identifying technology trends to enable future-state business capabilities, and supporting business processes that, in turn, drive the organization's targeted business outcomes. This role facilitates architectural decisions through highly collaborative cross-functional architecture governance process.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead the architectural runway supporting implementation of healthcare interoperability solutions based on FHIR standards.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to delivery programs, ensuring compliance with FHIR and HL7 standards, best practices, and healthcare data security requirements.
Collaborate with delivery programs, including product owners, business unit leaders, and scrum teams, to translate business needs into scalable, interoperable solutions.
Develop architectural roadmaps, define technical requirements, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Support design and implementation of RESTful APIs, ensuring seamless data exchange across healthcare systems.
Conduct assessments and provide recommendations on FHIR adoption and integration strategies, considering legacy system modernization and cloud migration.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, ensuring data privacy, security, and proper use of healthcare information.
Stay current with emerging FHIR standards, regulations, and healthcare trends to guide innovation and continuous improvement efforts.
Communicate complex FHIR solutions effectively to both business and IT stakeholders ensuring consensus and alignment.
Apply capability-based planning and human centric design approaches to construct future- and current-state capability models.
Leads analysis of healthcare industry technology and market trends to determine their potential impact on business outcomes by providing practical advice to take advantage of new emerging technologies and the business ecosystem for major disruptive technology and nontechnology trends that affect business strategy execution.
Coaches and mentors' other architects, product owners and business stakeholders to instill architectural and design thinking mindset.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's or bachelor's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
Hands-on experience with HL7 FHIR standards, including creating and publishing custom HL7 FHIR Implementation Guides (IG) and profiles.
In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with USCDI standards and US Core IG, with practical applications; working knowledge of USCDI+ and QI Core IG is a plus.
Proven experience in setting up, evaluating, and benchmarking HL7 FHIR servers for optimal performance, including the use of synthetic data for testing.
Minimum of two years involvement with solution architecture development and delivery; experience developing and interpreting business architecture
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in the use of enterprise architecture tools and techniques, such as strategy on a page, strategic planning, and business model canvas.
Deep knowledge of business ecosystems, including SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT, and predictive analytics within the healthcare sector.
Comprehensive understanding of health insurance business models, operating models, financial modeling, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and risk management.
Expertise in product-centric operating models and scaling agile methodologies at the enterprise level.
Current with new and emerging technologies, with a keen ability to integrate them effectively into the business.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record in facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management.
Demonstrated ability to engage with the latest healthcare trends and integrate them into business strategies for optimized adoption and adaptability.
