Job description

Role: Lead Python Engineer/Lead DevOps Engineer
Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)
Contract Duration: 6+ months (with a possibility of extension)
Work Hours: US PST time
Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)
Location: 100% remote (can work from anywhere in LATAM Countries)

The candidate will work directly with the Self-Checkout Project Team, which has about 10 members. The team focuses on developing custom capabilities using Python, Terraform, and some Ansible.

Must Haves:

6-8 years of experience in DevOps
Python Expert
Jenkins – Building CI/CD pipelines from scratch and re-fracturing/re-implementing
Kubernetes – environment orchestration and resource management
Linux Administration
On-Prem Experience
Ansible Playbooks

Responsibilities:

50% direct coding
50% cross-functional work – bug fixes, problem reports, etc.
Dailey stand-up/planning meetings
Pipeline creation/maintenance/enhancements
Participate and contribute to design discussions for upcoming work

Day-2-Day:

Planning meeting/stand up in the morning.
Review where things are and what the plan is for the day.
A Project will be assigned
Pipeline enhancement or a new pipeline to a systems migration. Or future enhancement for one of the custom apps.
Working on new capabilities – some break/fix work that could disrupt them – help fixing things that are not working as they should – will have some deliverable they need to update on the daily scrum stand up.
Tracking to completion.
Participate in a design discussion for upcoming work.
Expect to contribute design or poke holes into someone elses.
Need to be able to build CI/CD pipelines from scratch but up front they will be doing re-fracturing/re-implementing pipelines.
Contribute to past python applications.
