Job description

The Workday Consulting Services Manager should be a “go to” practice leader, expected to provide expert guidance to the Consulting management team and their subsequent project team members. You will “bridge the gap” between the business and technical teams by solving complex Workday intersystem problems. You will guide clients through the transformation, implementation, and operation phases of a Workday implementation. This individual will assist the sales team with sales activities, such as orals, estimations, and Statements of Work (SOWs). This person will assist in identifying business needs and ensuring that the work/life balance of our consultants is monitored while on projects.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Execute the day-to-day activities of a Workday Financials and Analytics Consultant

  • Serve as a Workday Financials expert with deep knowledge of current functionality, design concepts, touchpoints with relevant functional areas and in consideration of future product direction

  • Helps others by driving, organizing, and completing tasks within the Workday Financials practice to drive efficient completion and achieve project goals.

Project Oversight: 

  • Oversight responsibility for Workday Financials projects across the practice 

  • Oversee and assist engagement/project managers and team members when needed to identify project needs, reduce risk and develop solutions and strategies 

Sales Support: 

  • Support the RFP response and pursuit process for Consulting work 

  • Support business development activities such as identification, proposal development, orals and other pursuit activities

Project Work: 

  • Guide the customer through facilitated design sessions and configuration decisions based on best practices and an understanding of the customer’s unique business requirements at all stages of the project. 

  • Regularly engage and support the client through all phases of the project, 
    ensuring a smooth transfer from legacy systems to the Workday solution. 

  • Perform multiple tasks under limited direction, while regularly keeping the 
    client, your project team, and your Engagement Manager abreast of changes or progress related to the project. 

  • Willingness to take a leadership position on a project, or as a Cognizant or Workday Financials product Partner Lead and/or DA Reviewer. 

  • Display your hands-on expertise of the software, moving configuration from tenant to tenant, and configuring business processes and security. 

  • Utilize your technical aptitude to convert and map data sources into data conversion templates 

  • Act as a mentor to fellow consultants and analysts, including providing support for shadow assignments.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent  

  • Possess 3-5 years of Workday implementation and/or post-production support including Report Writer and Prism

  • Project leadership in support of overall direction and delivery of analytic solutions

  • Experience gathering requirements, designing, prototyping, testing and deploying solutions to meet customer requirements

  • Subject Matter Expertise in reporting including developing complex reports, layouts, and analytics for business purposes.

  • Required characteristics: fast learner, detail oriented, decisive, and enjoys fast-paced work environments 

  • Must work well within and across teams to get things accomplished 

  • Possess sales engagement experience estimating and presenting to prospects
