Job description

CSI Recruiting is working with a leading conventional oil and gas producer with high-quality, long-life, operated oil and natural gas reserves in the United States. Our client has been in business for decades, growing the firm by both acquisitions and asset development.  The Operations Engineer position, located in Central Dallas, is for an early career, 1-3 year experienced petroleum engineer that is eager to make a real contribution to the success of the firm.


RESPONSIBILITIES


The Operations Engineer will be responsible for the execution of ongoing field operations, subsurface repairs, artificial lift design and enhancements, production optimizations and new development planning within a specific region of conventional oil assets including:

  • Work with the Field Operations team to manage area responsibilities
  • Work with the well servicing group to review, repair, and optimize downhole failures while managing within budget.
  • Work with field-based engineers and field-based development teams to ensure wells are on production and tied in as soon as possible after drilling and completion
  • Support the field operations team and lead production optimization activities on wells and identify production reactivation candidates and abandonment candidates
  • Work on innovative projects and new technology implementations
  • Identify facility/pipeline requirements for current and future capital development and work with engineers to define project scopes
  • Assist with facility optimization/rationalization and other operating cost reduction initiatives
  • Support Maintenance and Facilities teams in annual facilities turn-arounds
  • Participate in yearly budgeting process and efficient execution of annual budget

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES


Ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of petroleum engineering experience working within an operating company.  At this time, the client is not considering candidates that only have service company experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering is required
  • Highly organized individual with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to work at both the field and corporate level
  • Team Player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
  • Displays Positive attitude, resilience and innovative approach to problems
  • Must be comfortable making presentations and facilitating meetings
