How can you make an impact?
The Instructional Designer, Literacy (K-5) is a digital savvy content and curriculum expert, responsible and accountable for assembling high-quality content based on specific product requirements for the Literacy programs. You will be a valuable member of a collaborative group of Instructional Designers, closely partnering with teams focused on content, product management, UX, and creative media. As part of this team, you will create robust digital tools, curriculum and learning solutions in a variety of formats that are used by millions of educators and students every day.
This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. This is a Project Status Worker (PSW) role with an end date of December 31, 2025.
What you will be doing:
Contribute to early product workstreams, including proof of concept (POC) and wireframe creation, low and high fidelity prototypes, and implementation models.
Design, develop, and build digital curriculum assets (videos, student-driven activities, simulations, etc.) using an Understanding By Design/backwards planning iterative process.
Participate in concept meetings, manuscript reviews, and alpha/beta builds for digital assets.
Provide user testing support and informal product training for associate instructional designers.
Collaborate with academic design vendors and freelancers, participate in weekly status meetings, and ensure product guidelines are followed.
Lead digital reviews, manage workflows, collaborate on technical bugs, and conduct quality assurance checks on vendor work for adherence to product and academic standards.

Expertise in instructional design or educational technology and previous K-12 teaching experience.
2-5 years of experience in digital content development or instructional design for teaching and learning materials.
Bachelor's or master’s degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or related field.
Experience managing multiple projects with tight timelines, high collaboration, and strict budgets.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
Familiarity with authoring tools, LMS, CMS, and creating animated or interactive content.

The pay range for this position is between $49,500-$65,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
