Job Description
One of our top reputable clients is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will facilitate and complete month-end closing procedures, prepare financial statements, analyze financial statements, and manage accounts within the ERP system. This role will also support special projects, assist with external audits, and develop accounting policies in accordance with GAAP.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate and complete month-end closing procedures, including general ledger reconciliations and journal entries.
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements by department, and statements of cash flow.
- Analyze financial statements to identify variances in the P&L against budget and meet deadlines according to the month-end closing calendar.
- Manage accounts within the ERP system for general ledger, accounts payable, and receivables.
- Coordinate meetings with the Corporate Accounting Manager and financial analysts to communicate general ledger activity in relation to department budgets.
- Support the Controller and Corporate Accounting Manager with special projects and workflow process improvements.
- Assist CFO and Controller with annual external financial audit, state audit, and organization tax return (Form 990) preparation.
- Research, develop, and maintain accounting policies in accordance with GAAP.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 3-7 years of accounting experience (public accounting experience a plus)
- Proficiency in general ledger management, reconciliation, and month-end closing procedures
- Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements
