Job Description

We are looking for Project Managers to join AFRY’s Energy Division within the expanding Renewable Energy team in Ireland and in the UK. This role is Dublin or UK based and you can work remotely from anywhere in Ireland or the UK.

You will provide clients and your fellow colleagues with help and support to deliver their renewable energy projects across the various markets in which AFRY operate with a particular focus on Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Great Britain.

You will act as project manager on multi-contract or EPC renewable energy projects in Ireland and the UK during both pre-construction and construction phases of the project. Support our client base and work closely with project funders in bringing development projects to Financial Close.

We need you to ensure that all works are delivered to the highest standard of safety including where relevant the discharging of statutory safety roles on behalf of the client so this role pro-actively manages clients to ensure that the highest standard of customer service is ensured.

This role will be responsible for managing the tender and contract negotiation process for both the main equipment supply packages and the associated Operations and Maintenance Agreement. Manage the tender and contract negotiation process for the Balance of Plant Contract(s).

You will prepare the project delivery plan including programme and Capex/Opex budget. Administer the construction contracts fulfilling the role of ‘Engineer’ or ‘Employer’s Representative’ as appropriate. Assess interim accounts as required under the construction contracts and negotiate any variations and claims necessary.

In terms of Business Development you will participate in this work including developing contacts, presenting AFRY’s capability, preparing proposals and managing bids. As well as supporting in the development of our developing engineers.

Qualifications

We expect you to have the following skills (but we don’t expect anyone to tick every box):

  • A degree in an Engineering, Project Management or Renewables focused subject
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Project Manager on renewable energy projects or a closely related infrastructure sector is a requirement with experience of performing the PSDP role on projects
  • You are a self-starter, ambitious and able to manage multiple tasks. You have excellent written and oral communication skills. and are willing to work in a variety of different roles
  • You have a full driving licence valid in Ireland
