How can you make an Impact?
The ideal candidate will apply their expertise in digital academic design, content authoring, and accessibility to help bring McGraw Hill School programs into accessibility compliance by creating a consistent and scalable accessibility strategy and practice throughout the remediation of existing products.
It will be filled as a Project Status Worker (PSW) designation. This is a remote role, and candidates can reside anywhere within the United States.
What you will be doing:
Collaborate with product design, production specialists, SMEs and accessibility team members to prepare samples for audit and find remediation solutions.
Prepare and post samples for audit.
Translate technical accessibility guidelines into practical solutions.
Write guidelines and train vendors on scaling accessibility solutions over entire components and programs.
Update, maintain, and communicate documentation, workflows, artifacts, and tools for accessibility work across the portfolios
Understand, give feedback, and resolve product issues related to accessibility, keeping the instructional integrity of the products intact.
Develop a deep expertise on accessibility best practices and how they relate to McGraw Hill content, authoring tools, and build workflows.
Mentor peers on accessibility best practices as needed.
Work within ambiguous environments, including adapting to new challenges, scenarios, and working styles.
What you need to be considered:
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in a relevant field
2+ years of experience in authoring accessible products
Accessibility certification
Passion for designing processes that scale
Ability to break down ambiguous problems into concrete, manageable components and think through optimal solutions
Ability to understand a problem from multiple perspectives to find solutions that balances multiple, sometimes competing, priorities
Strong listening skills; open to input from other team members and departments
Ability to lead through influence
The pay range for this position is between $50,000 - $75,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
