Job Description

The catastrophe modeling analyst is responsible for collection, organization, scrubbing, interpretation, analysis, documentation and dissemination of cat modeling exposure and results. The candidate will process insured exposure schedules to ensure data integrity through queries, views and reports

Interpret data, analyze results and provide ongoing reports
Develop and implement data cleansing techniques and strategies that optimize workflow efficiency and data quality
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in exposure and loss data sets
Filter and scrub data, evaluate for performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Qualifications

BS in Geo Science, Meteorological Engineering, or related discipline
Technical expertise in programming background and database management exposure
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel & Access)
Knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, etc.) ad databases (SQL, etc.)
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
Previous catastrophe modeling exposure desired (RMS, AIR)
