Title:  Financial Education Facilitator- Financial Capability Program 

Location:  Remote & Hopelink Partner Locations in North and East King County (Training is onsite at Redmond, WA)

Work schedule: On Call (Semi Annual projects)

The career opportunity: 

The Financial Education Facilitator supports Hopelink’s Financial Capability Program objectives by delivering bi-lingual financial education services. Qualified individuals will serve as language-specific facilitators primarily working with immigrants and refugees on their path to financial wellness and contribute to providing quality financial educational resources. This position reports to the Financial Capability Program Manager and works closely with the Financial Education Coordinator. 

 

This position facilitates financial education classes using Hopelink’s Financial Foundations curriculum, translates, and edits class existing materials as needed, and provides feedback to program staff on curriculum effectiveness.  Candidates for this role will be bilingual in English and assigned language/name language, have some experience in personal finance or adult education, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

 

This position is work from home except on-site availability for training, facilitating classes, and some team meetings.

 

Members of BIPOC (black, indigenous, people of color) communities, or people who have personal experience in historically marginalized and excluded communities are especially encouraged to apply.

 

Examples of what you will be doing:

  • Complete Financial Foundations training.
  • Facilitate financial education sessions in the assigned language/name language using Hopelink’s Financial Foundations curriculum.
  • Translate and edit financial education session materials and supporting materials as needed.
  • Listen, document, and report community members’ concerns and experiences to program management after sessions.
  • Refer community members to existing services when appropriate.
  • Be receptive and thoughtful about ways to improve outreach within their community and share ideas with program staff.
  • Attend pre- and post-session meetings in-person or virtual as needed with Hopelink Financial Capability program staff.

  • Bilingual (English and assigned language/name language)
  • Passion for financial education.
  • Experience working in basic financial literacy field or with financial institutions preferred.
  • Experience working with low-income populations and immigrants and refugees.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, Office 365 including Teams and SharePoint, Zoom, and databases. Some training offered with Office 365.
  • Excellent English and assigned language/name language communication skills both written and verbal.
  • High degree of comfort facilitating classes in person and virtually. 
  • Excellent cross-cultural communication skills and commitment to practicing cultural humility.
  • Committed to racial equity and to applying principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.
  • Committed to using a trauma-informed approach in facilitating classes and collaborating with colleagues.
  • Self-directed and experienced with taking initiative.
  • Able to work flexible schedule to meet needs of the program, including evenings and weekends on rare occasions.

 

How you will be compensated: Hopelink is proud to provide meaningful paid time away from work and an affordable, comprehensive benefits package.

  • Compensation: $24.00 hr.
